Toxicological Trivia from March 25, 2015:  The grasshopper is an insect of the suborder Caelifera in the order Orthoptera, sometimes referred to as the short-horned grasshopper to distinguish it from katydids, or bush crickets. Grasshopper species which change color and behavior at high population densities are called locusts.They have two pairs well suited for long flights wings and a third pair of legs of type "jumper", which gives them an excellent ability to move. These features, along with its high capacity for multiplication, their greed and their purely vegetable diet, do that when they are suitable natural conditions, can become serious enemies of crop production. Among the most important natural enemies of  grasshoppers appear specifically called "eaglet lobster" (see trivia # 277; monocrotophos poisoning affecting 5% of the total population of the species). The grasshopper photo is:a) Zoniopoda tarsata;b) Chromacris speciosa;c) Tropidacris collaris.
