Toxicological Trivia from December 03. 2014: Virginia creeper, Victoria creeper, five-leaved ivy, or five-finger, is a species of flowering plant in the vine family Vitaceae, native to eastern and central North America. The fruits are small berries no more than 6 mm, dark blue color tending to black. The berries provide an important winter food source for birds.In our publication "Adaptation for primary health care rated toxic plants" recorded a case of poisoning by ingestion of fruit even though it says it is unlikely consumption for its bad taste. These are toxic because it contains:a) Saponins;b) Oxalic acid;c) unidentified sustance.
