Linden is one of three English names for the tree genus Tilia (also known as lime and basswood). Tilia, the linden tree is a genus of the family Malvaceae (previously classified in its own family, Tiliaceae), native to the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Comprises about thirty species, which are distributed across: a) Asia and Europe; b) The Eastern North America. c) Both previous assertions are correct.
