Correct answer: d. Viper is meant by "born alive", as the Viperidae family members do, family which owes its name to that feature. Embryonic development of the snakes may occur in the environment or inside the body of the female. In the latter case, when the time is wright , the eggs that grew inside the maternal oviduct are expelled already developed, identical copies of the adult forms.
