N° 55 – December 2007
Monthly Electronic Newsletter of Sertox (Latin-American Portal of Toxicology) – Year 4
December 2007We begin by the end, because our next issue will appear next year: the  members of Sertox wish you a  Very Happy New Year! And this story of the festivities, as in previous years is repeated with new and good wishes. But unfortunately also repeated other stories related with toxic and poisoning. If we had had to choose a title theme undoubtedly had been "misnamed energy drinks." (See 1 & 2 and also the Spanish Bulletin). Another endless story in Argentina is potassium bromate, although in this case has to do with a new publication and not with a new posioning outbreak. The happy end for this story will be when the authorities of  ANMAT decide to apply our advice: copy what Uruguay did, ie prohibit their importation (see article). It also repeats of toys with lead (see), is known more about the pollution of Abra Pampa, problems with drugs (1, 2, 3),  jellyfish (which are increased, such as scorpions), Miscellaneous addictions and so on. Luckily there will be some justice for the victims Nicaragua’s DBCP (See). As stated in the Argentine radio novel several decades ago: NOT MISS THE NEXT CHAPTER. Stories that begin and that will  to talk include research about saccharin or cocaine and the effects of prenatal exposure to arsenic (see). This month there are many congratulations (in addition to the year-end), several developments of Sertox including new items in RETEL, interesting contributions ( 1,2) and remember that "not only of  toxic we live". Until next number.JCP
