Le contesto en castellano pero con información en inglés (de Micromedex
2004). Esta descripto lo siguiente: HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE + PREDNISONE 1.
Summary: Concomitant thiazide diuretic and corticosteroid therapy has been
reported to result in excessive potassium loss (Anon, 1981). 2. Adverse
Effect: hypokalemia and subsequent cardiac arrhythmias 3. Clinical
Management: Potassium balance should be carefully monitored when corticosteroid
therapy is initiated, discontinued, or altered in patients who receive chronic
thiazide diuretics. 4. Severity: moderate 5. Onset: delayed 6.
Documentation: good 7. Probable Mechanism: additive kaluresis Es probable
que el uso concomitante de amiloride disminuya este riesgo.
Respecto a alimentos le adjunto esto: FOOD 1. Summary: Food decreases
the bioavailability of hydrochlorothiazide tablets to a small degree (Barbhaiya
et al, 1982). Compared to water alone, food caused a 15% reduction in the area
under the plasma concentration-time curve (time zero to 24h). Although
conflicting data suggest food enhances absorption, the study design was flawed
in not allowing normal food consumption to resume at the same time for the 2
study groups (Beermann & Groschinsky-Grind, 1978). This potentially altered
gastrointestinal secretion and motility. 2. Adverse Effect: decreased peak
hydrochlorothiazide levels 3. Severity: minor 4. Onset: rapid 5.
Documentation: fair 6. Probable Mechanism: decreased absorption |
